Simply Amazing..

Two posts in one day! This is definitely a first!

Well, well, I have BIG news that I forgot to share..

I can talk to my car, and guess what...it talks right back!! Yes, this is correct I finally learned how to pair my bluetooth from my phone to my car. So with one push of a button I can tell my car to do all sorts of stuff!! I was absolutely amazed! If I tell it to dial one of my friends, he dials right away. It has been the most amazing thing..if I receive a phone call instead of my phone ringing, my radio pauses and says that I have an incoming call; it even shows who is calling me! I then have the option of answering the call or declining it (all through my radio of course). It is all handsfree, so if you see me driving down the road I promise I'm not talking to myself..just talking to my car!! I mean I've only had my car for two years and am just now figuring this little piece of technology out, but I absolutely LOVE it! It just made my day :) You should all give me a call next time you see me driving around town! And for those people driving around that do not know about my new little secret, they probably think I am absolutely insane driving around talking to myself!

Tomorrow, Tomorrow..

Well, well, well..I have been trying to get everything done before the big move. I have been on the phone all day trying to transfer my insurance license and all of that fun stuff! I am going back to Birmingham tomorrow to look at apartments..hopefully by the end of the day tomorrow Sophie and I will have a place to live! Things are starting to come together, although I still don't have training dates :( I am afraid that is just a matter of time!

I have been completely lost over the past few days, I had to send my laptop back to get fixed. Hopefully I will get it back very soon, and fingers crossed it may be a new one!! I really don't care to see my old one ever again! It was a good computer, but gosh I can type so much faster when I don't have to copy and paste my "g" and "h" keys! And of course most importantly, my crops have been withering..in Farmville that is, and my restaurant..well it is almost non-existant at this point. I have been unable to keep them both up since I don't have a computer haha! I mean, that's important stuff people!! My family and friends make so much fun of me for playing those games on Facebook..it is so unlike me on a normal day to do anything of that nature; normally I am too busy to even notice them. But hey, unemployment has reached a new high! I am an entrepreneur...on the internet of course! If only I could make that much money in real life :)

While I was out of the blogging world for a little while, I missed a very important birthday! Happy late birthday Riley!! For those of you who are not fortunate enough to have ever met my cousin, Riley, she is absolutely AMAZING!! Happy late birthday Riles and I hope it was the best one yet :)

Riles used to come to make the annual Mayer family beach trip each summer and unfortunately since the wedding she has not been able to make it, but we absolutely could not be more excited about seeing her and Matt at Thanksgiving!!

I Miss..

1. Starkville
2. Living in the Cotton District
3. Living in the same city as my friends
4. Living with my friends
5. Did I mention my best friends??
I NEVER thought I would say this, but since I have moved home I am beginning to appreciate the tiny town of Starkville a little bit more than I used to. Granted, Starkville is very small but I really do miss so much of it.
Well, I arrived in Starkville on Thursday night and had dinner with my roommate from last year. I then met up with my friends and headed out for a night on the town. I woke up the next morning and went to lunch with my roommate from two years ago, and then went to Bulldog Bash later that night. Saturday, I proceeded to tailgate in the junction all afternoon and went out with friends Saturday night. This morning I woke up, had lunch with some friends and headed back to Meridian.
Needless to say, I did not go into the game; however, it was an awesome game. I just wish that the outcome had been a bit better!
All in all, this weekend was amazing and I hope that there are many more to come in the future. Being back in the sorority house for three nights made me feel as if I lived there again. Did I mention that the room I lived in my sophomore year is the room that my sister has now? She picked the room not knowing that was the exact room that I had! Being back in the house brought back soo many fun memories!
I NEVER thought I would say this, but sometimes...I wish I were still in college..minus the studying of course :)

What a day, what a day..

And Im so glad it is over! I am headed to Starkville tomorrow and could not be any more excited about it!! I have lunch and dinner plans with my friends tomorrow and Friday!! Bulldog Bash is Friday night and then the LSU game is on Saturday!! I am really hoping it does not rain!! I have to think of one more dish to make for the tailgate..any suggestions??

On another note, I have to send my computer back to Dell over the weekend, so hopefully it will not be gone for too long! My letter "h" and "g" are still not working so I am hoping that they will both be working when I get it back! You dont realize how much you miss them until they are gone!! I am still copying and pasting them when I have to use them...which is A LOT!! Did I mention I was also missing an apostraphe and a quotation mark? It makes for some really bad gramatical errors on a good day!! I cannot wait to get them all back and working correctly!! I hope that everyone has a good weekend!!

Exciting News!

Well, fall has arrived! I absolutely cannot believe that it is almost October!! Where has this year gone?? Well, after much deliberation I have decided that I will be moving to Birmingham!! I took a job with a health benefits company and I will be selling medicare supplements. I was in Birmingham last Tuesday and Wednesday looking for apartments and I will be heading back next week to look again. I found a few that I really like but I have to narrow it down! I still feel as if I am on summer vacation. I continuously try to write July as the current date and I consistently have to remind myself that it gets dark so early now because it is September, almost October, and not July!! Reality has yet set in..I continue to think that I will shortly be reunited with friends in Starkville. I am afraid reality is going to hit me in the head when I move to Birmingham. I must admit that on a good day unemployment is amazing, but there are many days in which I feel unproductive and bored.

What have I been doing with all of this free time you ask? Well, my creative juices have been flowing!! I have baked NUMEROUS cakes and painted many paintings, and just recently I have been making fall wreaths! I need to start uploading pictures of everything that I make! Well, I am headed to Starkville this weekend for Bulldog Bash and I could not be more excited! I miss seeing my friends everyday!! We have started our own tailgate and I am currently trying to decide what I will be making this week! Any suggestions would be appreciated!! I may go up on Thursday and make it a long weekend!!

And as for little Sophie..
She is getting SOO big!! I think it may be time for her to go on a slight diet :) She is now leash trained and she has the bark of a doberman! She has become quite the guard dog! But she is still just as sweet as she has ever been!

Plans for October:

1-My dads 50th Birthday!!
2-Moving to Birmingham
3-Aunt and Uncle coming to visit

I absolutely cannot wait! And I am going to try and update you more often..I know you must just be killing over in anticipation for each new post :) I hope all is well!

A Short Summer Update.,

Not having a job has definitely allowed me to do many things I would not have normally been able to do and I am thankful for that, but I will definitely be thankful for a job if one ever opens up! I finished up my last month at Mississippi State and am officially an MSU alumni. I traveled with my dad to Mens Apparel Market in New York in July and had an absolutely amazing time! I was in no way ready to leave. While we were there, I met a friend from MSU for dinner one night and we had so much fun catching up. The other nights, I met up with some younger retailers and we all went out; I had so much fun with them! They are all such great guys and I really enjoy the little time that we get to spend together; I wish we all lived a little closer to each other!

On another fun note, I just got back from the beach. My friends and I decided to take a quick, much needed vacation before everyone went back to school and/or looked for jobs. We had the most amazing trip, and I am already having withdrawals! Besides family vacation, that was probably one of my most fun trips with my friends. We layed out, played lots of paddle ball, volleyball, frisbee, and many other fun games!

On a more serious note: Butterflies, butterflies, and more butterflies.

I am one that normally likes to plan things out ahead of time before I do them and looking for a job has been everything but normal and predictive. I cannot remember a time in my life in which I had absolutely no idea what I would be doing; everything has always been planned months in advance and this change has definitely been a challenge. I am so nervous that it almost makes me sick just thinking about it; I know I shouldnt be but I need a job, and I want it to be the right job, one that I will enjoy.

Last week, I went to 18 different companies in Birmingham in hopes it might get me further than applying online and only 6 companies took my resume. Everything is online and paperless now, I sometimes wonder how anyone finds a job! Most of my friends gave up job hunting a while back losing all hope of any potential openings and that is one thing that I am trying so hard not to do.

I have an interview in Jackson on Monday, Meridian on Tuesday, and I am working in a showroom at Womens Apparel Market in Atlanta Wednesday through Sunday. I am soo excited about showing a line at market; that is right up my alley! I love retail and would LOVE a full-time job in it!

I found out today that I have a really big interview coming up with an insurance agency in September, wish me luck..Im super nervous about it! I have to write an 8-10 page business proposal and give a 15 min. presentation on the proposal. All odds are against me I am afraid considering that I am a female and so young, but it would be an absolutely amazing opportunity if I am offered it. Fingers crossed it works out!

On another note, my sister suffered a concussion this past week, so keep her in mind as she is recovering. I never realized just how traumatic they are until I got home today and saw her. She is in a lot of pain and barely getting around so keep her in your prayers!

I hope everyone is doing well!

Where has the year gone?

It seems as if this year has just begun and it is quickly coming to an end. It has been a while since I have blogged so I will catch you up to date! Although I didn't have a whole lot going on during the months of May and June, I seemed to stay extremely busy. I'm still continuing to interview, so I've been making many trips to Jackson and also to Birmingham. I also recently passed the state Life, Health, and Accident insurance exam. I am taking one finance class this month and it started this past Monday. Last weekend for the fourth, I met some friends and we all went to Philadelphia for the night. We had a blast!! We went to dinner and watched the fireworks there; it was so much fun and I will post pictures from that very soon! Last Sunday afternoon, I headed back to Starkville. Class isn't bad but I must say that there is not much going on in the city of Starkville this summer at all! I spent last June in Starkville living with three of my best friends and we had a blast; there was so much going on and there were tons of people in town! This summer, I have two friends and my roommate living in Starkville and it is a total ghost town. I don't know why no one is in town. Thursday I went to our pool and NO ONE was there...so feeling really akward being a loner at the pool I headed over to the apartment complex that I lived at last summer and layed out there for the rest of the day. There were a few people at that pool but it was not nearly as crowded as it normally is. Two of my friends met me there and we had a good time. We went to dinner Thursday night and I headed back to Meridian early Friday morning. Last night a few friends and I went to a fraternity rush party and I'm not doing a whole lot tonight. Probably about to start packing! Friday I am headed home to go to a rehearsal dinner and then leaving early Saturday morning to go to New York with my dad for men's apparel market!! I'm soo excited; I absolutely cannot wait! I went with him in January and we had a blast, so I know we will have a good time again! I have a few friends living up there now, so hopefully I will be able to see them while I am up there! That next week, my cousins are coming!! I cannot wait to see them either! My sister and I usually make a trip to see them every summer and this year I could not talk her into going..because of her boyfriend that is. But none the less, we could not be more excited about them coming! Matt and Riles will not be making the trip, and of course we are sad about that...but we absolutely cannot WAIT to see you in November!! It has been way too long!!
