I've got great news!
My dad called to tell me that everything came back clear, thank goodness! The biopsy showed that it was a reactive lymph node that was from whatever "funk" he had..now why it has lasted two months we don't know! But what a relief for everyone!
And onto other news (not nearly or will never be important news),
I've hit two miles!
Only one more to go and I've reached goal!  Now let me update you on my newest findings:
I hate to run.  I find nothing enjoyable or pleasurable about running. I'm pretty convinced that anyone who says they love to run are lying.
One. big. fat. lie.
I mean, come on people.
You run, you sweat, and you huff and puff...and after you run, you can't even blow the house down!
Not. fun.  Rest assure that I will not run anything further than a 5k and definitely not running for fun when this is over.
The only thing that keeps me going is that I have to "reward" myself after every run (ridiculous I know)!
For instance, my "reward" after my run this weekend was a trip to Hobby Lobby.  And tonight, it was dinner.
Or some days, it might be a coke.  As ridiculous as it sounds, I have to make up something b/c I don't make it 5 minutes if I don't.
I've got a lot of updates, but the Bachelor is calling my name! More to come later!

Hi friends!
I've got a new strut..
and I'd be willing to bet that it's not a cute one, either.
My yesterday may have been a bit too productive and boy am I paying for it today!
I went into work yesterday morning, played tennis yesterday afternoon, went for a run, packed up some boxes, and proceeded to do laundry and dishes.
I felt great when I went to bed and I couldn't move when I got up this morning.
My new vocabulary is consisting of mainly eww's and ow's.
I really would love to sit and do nothing today but unfortunately sitting is a bit painful.
I've read that running relieves soreness?
I guess we will give it a little try (and I do mean a little).
Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Please remember my dad in your prayers.  He will have a biopsy done in the morning and they will know the results sometime next week.  To say that he's worried is a bit of an understatement, and his worry is beginning to turn into complete panic mode.  Over the past few months, he has been trying to get me to move back into the family business.  This weekend, he thought that it was necessary to put in my two week notice immediately and move back in with them (my parents that is).
We will hold off on the moving for now.
Now don't get me wrong, I absolutely cannot be selfish.  If anything were seriously wrong and any results came back positive I would drop everything that I was doing and move back home to take the family business. But fortunately, I haven't been put in that position just yet.  My family means everything to me and I would do anything in the world for them but I just think that nothing irrational needs to be done until the results are definitive.  Let's just pray that everything comes back normal.

Happy Birthday Sara!!

Happy, Happy Birthday Sara!! I hope that you've had a wonderful day! We've got lots of celebrating to do next time we're all together!

Long Time, No Blog

I've been a terrible blogger, and you've missed a lot!
Let me catch you all up to date..
First things first:
Happy Belated Birthday to my dear friend Laura Ruff!
I hope that you had a wonderful day!
....
Have you ever had one of those weeks that felt as if it just might never end?
Well, that was mine last week.
Lets just say that you might really have appreciated my blogging absence.
....
I just got back into Birmingham today.  I went to visit friends in Vicksburg on Friday night and had an absolute blast! Some of my dear friends Blair and Josh bought a house last summer and I'm just now getting around to seeing it! It was absolutely precious and I can't wait to go back and visit again soon! I also got to meet the new addition to their family, little Lucy! It was so great getting to catch up with them both, I just wish that I had pictures to show for the trip!
....
I was in Dallas Saturday and returned home yesterday.  To say that we had fun would be an understatement! It was soo great getting to see some of my good friends! I absolutely had a blast and was not ready to leave!  Saturday night when I arrived, Sara, Trey, and Adam all had the champagne waiting! We went to dinner, out in Uptown, and of course late night!  Sunday, Sara's family had a cookout at their house.  Monday, I had two interviews and met with a few companies; I met some friends for lunch and went out again with friends Monday night.  I had two interviews before I left on Tuesday and met up with Brad for lunch.  It was so great getting to catch up with everyone!! What a fun trip it was!
....
Today has been busy if you couldn't imagine.  I got into Birmingham this morning, went into work, cleaned, and you guessed it...started back running!  The question at the end of each day is now, "Couch or 5k?" Today was 5k, we will see what tomorrow brings!
....
On another note, remember my dad in your prayers.  He hasn't been feeling well; last week he underwent tests for Lymphoma.  Thus far, everything has come back clear but he still has a few more to go.  I was in Meridian last night and will be back there again this weekend.

Ice, Ice, Baby

Ice, Ice, Baby..
Considering that weather.com is the only website I get at work, I should know the weather here very well.  As I was reading this morning that an ice storm was coming our way, I laughed and went on about my day.  Who ever knew that there would really be a bit of one and that it would be today? That is until sleet the size of golf balls was coming down this afternoon! We got off at 3:00 and it absolutely made my week, unfortunately it took me so long to get home I may as well have stayed all day! Now if only it would get cancelled tomorrow, too! My door was iced shut when I tried to get in my car earlier, and everything here is white!
I don't know that I've ever been quite as excited for the weekend as I am today!! I'm supposed to be heading to Meridian tomorrow night and dinner at Anthony's with friends in West Point Saturday night!! I'm ready to see my Sophie and I'm so ready to see my friends and family! I'm supposed to be getting my hair done Saturday morning and it might really be a crisis if I don't. So here's to hoping work gets cancelled but the weekend doesn't!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

There are a few perks to being single (and by few, I do mean very few). But I did discover a new one tonight..
I've always had an appetite but here lately it has grown by leaps and bounds.
The only link that I can find between the two is that I started eating breakfast.
I've never been a big fan of breakfast.  I'm not much of a morning person, I really hate to get up early, I'd rather sleep the extra 10 min. it takes to make something, and who is hungry that early in the morning anyways?!
Well, my lunch time is pretty late (well, for me that is!) and I was nearly dying by the time I actually got to lunch so I had to cave-I just couldn't go without breakfast any longer.
So now that I eat it, I've found a newly discovered appetite I never knew I had.  And an extremely large one at that! And lets not talk about the few pounds that are coming with this new appetite either!
So back to my story..
I made the grave mistake of going to the grocery store hungry tonight. For the sake of my face, I'm trying to eat healthy.  I normally always do, but I'm talking extremely healthy.  As in, I only drink water and snacks have to be fruit and veggies. Good rule of thumb, but I have absolutely no self control these days when it comes to eating.
I mean, lets be honest..I've never been a big chocolate fan, and I nearly salivate at the mouth now just thinking about it.
So I'm strolling around Publix..first up, fruits and vegetables.  And then I spot it ...the bakery.  It is right smack dab in the middle of the fruits and vegetables therefore making it impossible to dodge. So I strolled, right on over to the king cakes that is.  And there it was-an extra large king cake (with extra icing I might add) for a whopping $5.  I mean, all of this yummy goodness for $5 people! What a steal! Or, there was the grapefruit.. for $3.  I mean, is that even a question? What kind of a decision is that? Without any further ado, the king cake it was.
But at that moment, it occurred to me-I'm single, really single.  I mean, I'm going home to eat a whole cake all by myself an no one (and I do mean no one) could tell me differently.  I have no one holding me accountable.  Now, some days it indeed would be nice to have someone telling me that I didn't need that cake.  But some nights (and I do just mean some nights), it's nice to be able to eat cake...and not grapefruit.
So there you have it.  After this post and my posts from last year around this time, I'm sure you all know by now just how much I absolutely hate February 14th and haven't stepped foot into a Wal-Mart since Christmas due to that fact.  So here's to Singles Awareness Day (and maybe eating all the chocolate that you want!).  Please just put a bag over my face until then!
P.S. The fact that I just sat here and blogged about food at the grocery store, might make this the most pathetic post I've ever published.

Updates, Updates

Dear, dear, where do I even begin?
I'll give you a short synopsis.
Last weekend:
Packed Friday
Went out with friends Saturday
Attended St. Mattress Sunday
Back to work on Monday.
Want to hear about my week?
Only because you asked:
I love Trustmark Bank, everything about it actually.  And yes, that is still currently the only bank that I will bank with and the funny thing-they aren't even located within the state of Alabama (that is true love, my friends). So you can imagine it sometimes tends to make life a little difficult.  But I'm a dedicated account holder-I won't switch. So my debit card expired in January.  I called January 2 to ensure that another was on its way...it wasn't.  The distribution center was late sending them out, so for every account holder with an expired debit card across its 3 states of existence-they would be extending the life of the card another month! Great, right?!
Ha, great until January 31st when your card stops working.  Yes, you read correctly-stopped working. You can imagine the very pleasant conversation that I had with the first associate that answered the phone this morning. I'm not normally one to give ear fulls (okay, almost next to never) but this poor girl, she surely got one from me.  I mean I live in AL, there is no Trustmark within the state, I only have one debit card, and one checkbook. I hate carrying cash therefore I don't ever carry much (really next to none).  And I have a credit card-that I never use.  It's for emergency use only and it erks me to the inth degree when I have to use it because I hate to ever have a balance on it.
So in between looking for jobs, setting up interviews, talking to realtors, working, and packing-I'm making my best attempt at living a semi-normal life.
Yes, I know that was a lot (in that last sentence, of course) but that will have to wait for another post all in itself.
Until then,
\
