It has been quite a while..

I didn't realize just how long it had been since I had blogged! Christmas holidays have been crazy! I have worked almost everyday since the first of December in Meridian. I traveled to Birmingham one weekend and I also had two finals in Starkville one day. Christmas was amazing! A week ago today, I traveled to Needham, AL to purchase the love of my life, a little Pomeranian puppy! I named her Sophie and she is absolutely amazing! She's soo good and such a little sweetheart; she is smaller than the palm of my hand! I am headed to Memphis on Wednesday to see some friends and will be back in Meridian sometime next week. Unfortunately, classes start next Wednesday! I can't believe I'll be graduating in a few months..so exciting and so scary all at the same time! Obsessions..

Okay, everyone knows that I'm obsessed with Christmas and that alone is an understatement, but recently I've bought Christmas songs off of I-Tunes like they're going out of style! This has become a serious addiction and I've GOT to stop! I literally have 70 Christmas songs on my I-Tunes playlist. Now granted, some are from my collections throughout the years, but about 15 or 20 of them are new! My debit card is going to hate me for purchasing these..please someone help me stop haha!!

I need to post pics of all of my Christmas decor around my house! I made a really cute wreath and have my tree up and everything! My friends and I had an Ornament Swap a few weeks ago at my place and it was so much fun!

Updates..

The past few weeks have been crazy and hopefully things will start to settle down! I am back in Starkville until Wednesday and then I'll be in Meridian working for the majority of December. I went with a few friends to the AL vs. MSU game a few weeks ago in Tuscaloosa and it was a blast! I think that was probably the most fun I've had since I've been in college..why I didn't go to AL I have no idea!! I think I knew more people in T-town than I did in Starkville; I saw lots of old friends and it was so much fun catching up with them! MSU played Arkansas in Starkville last weekend and that game was fun..just really cold! It seems as if my life has been consumed with class work or else Tri Delta and I'm ready for it to wrap up! I had a Life Insurance Portfolio due on Wednesday and I'm really glad to have that out of the way! I have got Tri Delta Pine Party (our family Christmas party) on Monday night. It is tacky Christmas theme..I've got to find an outfit soon! I've also got a Real Estate test on Monday and a review for finals on Tuesday. I start working with my dad on Wednesday and am excited to get started doing that. Thanksgiving was great; all of our family from Arkansas came into town and we had a blast! I LOVE when they come to visit, they are just soo much fun! Although, I really missed Matt and Riley; Thanksgiving wasn't the same without them but hopefully they'll be able to make it next year :) That about wraps everything up! I can't wait for Christmas! And how could I forget something soo important: I had one of my dear friends Jessica get engaged last Friday night!! She had a candlelight on Monday! We are all soo excited; this summer is going to be busy!

Amazing!

This past week has probably been one of the busiest all semester but the past two days have made up for it completely!! Last night I had a Christmas party and we had an ornament swap! It was soo much fun! I had a Life Insurance Portfolio due on Wednesday and it turned out that the teacher really liked it!! One of my best friends was supposed to move into my apt. in January and she told me on Sunday she wasn't going to, and so that was disappointing but I just got a message from a friend who is going to move in..fingers crossed it works out!! I've got a senior dinner tonight and then a football game tomorrow! This one's for you Riley..Go Dawgs!!!! I was in Tuscaloosa last weekend and I've got to post on that soon!! That was probably the most fun weekend I've had since I've been in college! I can't wait to catch you all up..it might be Sunday before I post but don't worry it will be very soon :) I know you are all about to kill over with excitement..haha!

Just a little update..

This week has been crazy and I'm ready for things to calm down!! I had a twenty question discussion test this morning..it wasn't hard it was just long! I am hosting a Christmas party next week and have been gathering a few things together for that!! I love Christmas, it is by far my favorite time of the year! Today was great; my dad came to visit for a few minutes, he was passing through, and I also talked to a friend I haven't talked to in quite some time! It's always fun catching up! I think I'm heading to T-Town on Saturday for the big game! As of now I'm saying go Dawgs, but after Saturday I might be chanting Rammer Jammer! I'm so excited, it should be soo much fun!

Impressed..

A blog post a day for about three days now..this is a first!! I went over to a friend's yesterday and her whole house smelled amazing!! I asked her what it was and that was it..it was love at first sight..it was a Woodwick candle! I just couldn't resist, I had to go get one today. It's like having a fireplace in your home; it crackles and makes the sound of a fire sitting right beside you! It is amazing and I absolutely love it; my house smells great!! I think everyone should get one! I have a holiday scented one and it smells soo good (and it's cheaper than the Yankee candles)!! I got it from Hallmark today and they had all of their Christmas stuff up! It looked so good I wanted to buy it all..all of you know I'm a Christmas freak!! Well, I'm off to bed. Life has been crazy! I have a Life Insurance Portfolio I've been working on along with a Real Estate test yesterday and a Risk Management test on Thursday, and homework to top that off! I'll update really soon; I've got lots of fun stuff to talk about :) I guess I need to change my header again sometime soon. I know it sounds crazy..

I know this sounds ridiculous but I gave in and started playing Fantasy Football. It seemed to be the rave and what everyone was talking about, so I had to find out for myself..and everything they say is so true! It is SOO much fun and I highly recommend it. Anyways, I have been in a league with other MSU fans and I just finished creating my own group. I'm posting this to recruit you all!! Please send me your e-mail address and join in! Updates, updates, updates..

I must update this more often! I love to look at other people's blogs and I cannot wait to get updates from them, and somehow it completely slips my mind to update my own. Life has been soo busy but so much fun. Tri Delta has kept me busy, we have recently had two swaps. Halloween was a blast; I ended up dressing as Pebbles Flinstone thanks to my amazing cousin Riles!! I have been busy with school. I had a presentation last week and I have a test on Monday. Election Day we had a swap and I went as a pig with lipstick. Not many people got it but those who kept up with the debates did. We had our formal in T-Town last night. I'll post about that later along with pictures. My camera was acting up so I didn't get to take any pictures with it. The holiday season is drawing near and I absolutely cannot wait! I couldn't be more excited!! I went to rent a Christmas movie tonight but there weren't any good ones out; if anyone has any good suggestions let me know! It has been way too long!

It has been entirely too long since I have blogged! I've got soo much to catch up on and I don't even know where to begin! Life has been soo busy; I was in Meridian this past weekend celebrating my dad's birthday! We had soo much fun; we went to eat in Philadelphia on Saturday night and then to a friend's house out in Collinsville. I had my first job interview last week and it went well. I've got exciting news for those of you who are interested to know the outcome, just give me a call :) I have found the love of my life..a little Pomeranian puppy (a few of them to be exact)!! I want one SOO bad but I've decided to holdoff until April. My landlord had to replace the carpet in my apt. when I moved in and is on the lookout for animals. Unfortunately, they will tack on rent whether they tell you or not if they find that you have a pet in the apt., and the pet fee is outrageous! Tri Delta had initiation and I got to initiate my little sis, Brooke. I also set up a booth at the Tri Delt House about two weeks ago to sell all of my Guy Harvey products. I have got a few XL and XXL tee shirts still for sell if anyone is interested! We have got a Halloween swap next week and I have NO idea what I'm going to be..any ideas?? I want to be an elf and I had considered making my own costume, but I'm still trying to decide!! We have got Homecoming this Saturday; hopefully we'll win!! We won't mention last weeks game againsts TN! And by the way, I joined a Fantasy Football league on Yahoo. For anyone who has never done this it is soo much fun! Everyone should join! I don't know a whole lot on the different teams but I'm learning! Hope everyone has a good week!

Lots to update on..

Words cannot express just how busy I have been lately! I don't even know where to begin..I was in Jackson a few weeks ago for insurance seminars, had a Tri Delt party last weekend, and then sold my Guy Harvey shirts this week. I also had papers and test to top that off! Things have been so crazy and hopefully they'll settle down sometime soon. I am currently in Meridian until next Wednesday which will be nice, but unfortunately I've got a Real Estate test on Wednesday afternoon. I got into town last night and we went to dinner with some friends from Mobile tonight. Next week when I get back we have got initiation. I can't wait for things to calm down! Oh and how could I forget we had a "Revenge of the Nerds" swap mixed in there also! Here are some pics below! By the way, I'm looking to buy a toy Pomeranian puppy..if anyone knows any good breeders please let me know!!

Weekend in Nashville

This weekend my family and I went to Nashville to a wedding. We left on Thursday and came back late yesterday afternoon. We had a great time! We went to the rehearsal dinner Friday night which was on the top floor of the SunTrust building and it looked out over all of Nashville. The decorations were amazing!! Then we went to a wedding brunch on Saturday which was at a quaint little restaurant. The reception was at the Nashville Country Club and it was so much fun! Not only did they have a band at the reception but they also had one at the rehearsal dinner!! We had a wonderful weekend and were not ready to get back. MS State played on Saturday and lost pretty bad..hopefully we'll be able to come back! I'll post pictures sometime soon!

Every Dawg has its Day..

This weekend was so much fun but crazy! We finally won, the game was a blast!! My friends and I all got together at my place Friday night before we went out and then I had four friends stay with me on Saturday night. We had a great time!! Can't wait until next weekend; hopefully we'll pull out another win! We have got Bulldog Bash on Friday night so it should be a good time. There are so many Auburn fans coming into town for the game..it should be a good time!!

Beach Trip

Over the past week, I've felt like a true evacuee. My friends and I went to Rosemary Beach this past weekend and had a wonderful time! We ended up leaving early Sunday morning to avoid Gustav. I can truly say that we took quite a scenic route through Alabama on the backroads to return to Mississippi. We passed over I-65 and the traffic was outrageous!! It's all that you see on t.v. and more! I spent Sunday night in Meridian with my family. I turned on the television mid-afternoon on Monday to find that every county south of Lauderdale was under tornado warnings so I headed back to Starkville as quickly as I could! Things have been so busy around here lately. My couches came in last week and I love them! I'm still painting; I've got a few doors left to paint and I should be done! We have our first home game of the season on Saturday and I am getting excited about that! I have company coming to stay this weekend and am looking forward to seeing them!!

Here's the deal, I have to list 6 random things about myself, then tag 6 other people:

1. I go by my middle name; most people go by their first. This often causes major confusion not only to others but also to myself. In auditorium classes I have to write my full name on all of my papers, and most professors only call me by my first name. Needless to say, I never know what to respond to. Also, no one can ever pronounce my last name correctly; I didn't think it was too challenging but obviously it is. I have too many nicknames and the most common being Lauren M (note my blog name!!).

2. I recently found out that I got a job working with Southern Tide (a new clothing company that makes knit shirts very similar to polo). I couldn't be more excited!! I'm currently the Guy Harvey/AFTCO campus rep. here at MSU and I absolutely love it!! I was soo excited to hear that I got a second line also!! They are both such wonderful companies to work for and I've met so many wonderful people with each! Let me know if you would like anything!!

3. I've always been a very clean person but recently I've gotten on a cleaning frenzy. Everything has to be spotless before I do anything else throughout the day. I've been re-painting and I also vacuum at least once every two to three days.

4. I guess you could say that I'm an "artsy" person. I love to get creative. I created this blog to sell my canvases on and as you could tell I haven't posted any pictures of them yet. Every piece of art in my apartment has all been painted by me. I'm currently painting a piece of art that I can't wait to be done with. I'll post pictures very soon!! I also love to get creative..I should have been an interior design major. I love to decorate and will do anything myself before I go purchase it somewhere..why spend money on something you can make??

5. Graduation cannot come soon enough. I've really enjoyed my time here and the memories made, but I'm ready to get into the "real world." I was going to graduate in December but I decided to stay and take two classes next spring....terrible idea. I really like college but I do not like to study. I had the month of July off and that is the first break I've taken since the first semester of my senior year of high school (yes I took college classes in high school). I know this sounds crazy but I really enjoy working, and I get no joy whatsoever out of studying.

6. Although I do go to Mississippi State, I'm not a very dedicated State fan. I've tried to transfer to Ole Miss numerous times and on an off football season, you better believe I'll be cheering for a different team. I went to the Liberty Bowl last year and it was awesome, so hopefully our winning streak will continue. If not, 'll just root for someone else. Now this being said, I've had a wonderful experience here that I wouldn't trade for the world. I do really like MS State but I'm just not a hardcore fan!!

Busy, Busy

Things have been crazy around here lately! Rush ended last week and my sister is officially a little Tri Delta; I couldn't be more excited! I'll post some Bid Day pictures soon! I'm beginning to get everything settled into my apartment. My couch should arrive on Wednesday..I had no idea how bad you miss something until you don't have it!! My friends have sat on the floor everytime they have come over. The apartment was painted before I moved in but they didn't paint the baseboards; they were a dingy beige color, so I've been re-painting those for about a week now. I'm almost done and they're looking great!! I've re-painted them with a glossy acrylic white paint so it looks like a brand new place! I just got back to Starkville this afternoon and I'm headed to the beach on Friday. Hope all of the rain is gone!!
