Wow, it has been a while..
I don't even know where to begin! Last weekend I met my friends in Starkville and we headed to Memphis for the weekend. My friends Blair and Josh are getting married in July and we went to two showers for them. We all stayed at Blair's house and had an absolute blast. My good friend Sara flew in from Dallas and we all had such a great time catching up!! I miss seeing everyone!!
In other news, I have been super busy lately. Lots has been going on and if I even remotely tried to catch you up-to-date it would be a minimum of a few pages...so we will just make it short and sweet: life has been really busy and super stressful. Here's to hoping things will calm down very shortly.
I'm in Meridian for the weekend, visiting my sweet little Sophie of course! I have a wedding in Starkville tomorrow night and will head back to B'ham sometime soon after that I guess. And most importantly, NOLA bound next weekend!! Absolutely. Cannot. Wait!!
Hope that you all have a wonderful weekend!!

You Live and Learn..
I learn something new everyday. And unfortunately, I've learned quite a bit within the last few months. Quite a bit more than I could have ever imagined, and to be so young I've experienced quite a bit more than I ever thought that I would experience.
I guess moving to a new city is quite a learning experience all on its own, and everyone tells you the sunshine but no one talks about the rain.
I've met so many amazing people since having moved here, and I've gotten involved in many different groups (and am still continuing to do so). I've learned more about myself in the past three months than I have in a very long time. I have way more patience than I ever thought I could possibly have, I have extravagantly thick skin, and have kept quite a positive attitude considering the circumstances.
I didn't tell you just how many rude people I've come in contact with, or just how cruel and unethical some people really are.
For every 10 amazing people you meet, there is always that one that makes you want to absolutely lose it. And I've met quite a few of them lately, it seems.
I just don't understand, and I'm convinced that I don't think I ever will.
I will just give one example:
I went to a meeting downtown one night. Granted, I had just moved to the city and had maybe been there 3 weeks (so these are some of the first people I meet), and it is mainly a group full of business-men (so I'm way outnumbered). I guess it is just something about being young in the business profession (you just can't help what age you are). Another older, professional man approached me and began to strike up a conversation..he was super intimidating, not to mention rude. So here I am, by myself in a new city trying to meet new people and have been nothing but extraordinarily nice to a man that walked up to speak to me. I did not approach him. And he was rude. Was that at all necessary? Did he just have a bad day at work? Thank you for making me never want to attend another one of your group meetings. Example 1 of 5,000 that have occurred here lately.
I love meeting people, and I love interacting with people. It's hard enough moving to a new city and having to meet new friends. It's harder to get involved in different groups within the community. And it's even harder to do it all alone, and attend group meetings by yourself. It's a pretty brave move in my opinion. It's worse when you're female with majority men, and it's way worst when you're a recent college graduate and not old like everyone else.
I cannot tell you how many countless rude people I come in contact with e-v-e-r-y day of my life at work. But to then have to meet people (like above example) doesn't really give you much encouragement.
Some days, I just want to bury myself in a hole and never come out. But I don't. And I continue on about my merry way. And I would like to give a little more than just a finger to the extravagantly rude people along the way. It's bad enough graduating unemployed in a bad economy, but no one makes life any easier. And not one of us can help that we're young. Everyone started somewhere, and I can promise you that I've met many people that shouldn't have been given a chance at all. But someone gave that mean man a chance, and someone should give nice people a chance too.
Sorry for such a rant, but I'm convinced that people are just nicer in Mississippi..

Warning!
Dear man that I spoke with this afternoon,
I'm sorry, but if you don't have enough respect to take the toothpick out of your mouth the whole thirty minutes in which you are speaking with me and then you try and convince me to come work for your company, what do you think my answer is going to be?
No, I will not come work for you or your company. It took all of my patience to refrain myself from yanking it out of your mouth.
Welcome to Alabama..

Some days..
Some days, I would just like to pull all of my hair out!
For the past three months, all I have done is work, work, and more work. I don't have time to think about anything else (and I mean nothing else!), and I'm beginning to forget some of the more important things in life.
I mean, some nights I literally forget to eat dinner..
this is beginning to get to be a bit ridiculous!
Here's to really hoping that changes soon!!

Facebook..
I currently have 18 pending friend requests and I declined two invites last night. So in all reality, I really had 20 friend requests.
Out of these 20, I literally knew 2.
What's up with all of the random request here lately?!

Have I told you lately...
just how much I miss my awesome cousins?
Riles has a blog, and everytime I read it I just can't help but to burst out laughing! I can just envision all of these (written) events taking place. If you didn't know, the Arkansas Vons are pretty funny people, and they're super fun to be around.
I might be partial, but I have the most amazing cousins and I wish every single day that we all lived closer together!
And a big congratulations goes out to my cousin Kirby who not only graduated from high school and got a full-paid scholarship to college, but he also was named Mr. Little Rock Christian Academy, and he was recently a hit star on a YouTube video!! Way to go Kirbs..so proud to call you my cousin!!
Patience is a Virtue..
And I'm afraid it is one that I do not possess.
I do know that most everything is well worth the wait,
but gosh don't you just hate the wait?!
I have a list of things I'm still waiting on but goodness the anticipation is killing me!
Have I ever told you just how much I enjoy reading Boundless everyday?!
I found this website about two years ago or so, and my they have some great career articles. With that being said you should check it out:
One of their more recent blog posts was written on patience.
Just curious as to who all is as impatient as I am?!

Happy Cinco De Mayo!!

Thankfully thus far, this week has been significantly better than last week! Whew, what a week it was. Onto better subjects, it is one gorgeous day here in the great state of Alabama and it is all that I can do to keep myself indoors. I have worked some really late nights this past week so I don't have too much going on today.
I'm pretty sure that I broke a new record. Thanks to my terrible allergies, I'm pretty sure that I am officially the world's first human bobblehead. I think if my head got any bigger, it would probably explode! I've always had bad allergies, but I can't remember the pollen ever being this bad..so for the sake of my head, I'm trying to stay indoors today.
Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday :)

Guess What?!
You will never believe this!! My good friend, Kayleigh, got a BLOG!! For you guys that do not know (and yes, I just used the phrase "you guys"), this is HUGE news!! I've been trying to convince my friends to get blogs for the longest time..unfortunately only one has caved thus far..no worries, I'm still working on the other ones :)
In more friend news, I got to see some of them this weekend!! I worked in Florence, AL on Friday and left for Starkville Friday night. I spent the weekend with them, and we attended two wedding showers for Whitney who is getting married in June! We all had soo much fun, and words cannot even describe how sad I was leaving them all again today.
I miss them SOO much. I love B'ham and I love my friends here but it's just not the same. I just wish I could scoop them all up and bring them all to Alabama..how fun would that be?!
So friends that read my blog, come visit soon!! I miss you all!
I wish I had a picture from this weekend. I need to get a new camera charger! Until then..
