I really do not even know where to begin..
Life has been busy to say the least. Christmas was amazing but leading up to Christmas, maybe not as glamorous. Over the past two weeks, I have been soo busy working, going to Christmas parties, catching up with friends, interviewing, and trying to get everything together for Christmas. Yes, I will mention that had an interview last week in which went very well; I just don't think that Meridian is the city in which I want to reside for the time being. With that being said, I will continue to look.
Christmas day was amazing, the Florida Vons came to visit this year and we had soo much fun getting to catch up with them! We got together Christmas Eve for lunch and also again for dinner, we spent all of Christmas day together, and we also spent all of yesterday with them also. I spent all of last night curled up with Sophie in my down comforter in front of the fire watching movies and catching up with the whole family. Who could ask for more? We had soo much fun and I really hate that the Florida Vons had to leave today! We had lots of fun with you and cannot wait for you to come back!!
Work was a little different this year. This December was the best December that the store has ever had in its 37 year history, and for that we are very grateful; however, my feelings for the business did change slightly. I love working in retail, and although it is sometimes tough and sometimes not-so-rewarding, I think that I would like a different change of pace for a little while, at least. The few weeks leading up to Christmas were so busy that they were almost not enjoyable, and sometimes working in the retail business will make you hate the holidays before they ever arrive. This year, for some odd reason, I really wanted to experience a Christmas not in the retail business. For the first time in my life, I wanted a Christmas in which I had time to sit around and watch Christmas movies, bake Christmas cookies, and have enough time to make it to every party/friend get-together that I was invited to without getting caught up in all of the hustle and bustle that the holiday seems to bring. December in the Mayer family is always the busiest season of the year; we tell my dad goodbye at Thanksgiving and we don't have much time to spend with each other until after Christmas is all over. We are extremely thankful for such good business, especially in this economy, but for once in my life I would love to experience a normal life during the Christmas season. Maybe next year?
New Year's Eve is coming up on us quickly and I couldn't be more excited to see all of my friends! Until next time..
