I'm afraid it's official..
our furry friend is back; although I wouldn't exactly call him a friend,
more like a rat.
We're really hoping that he's outside this time! He's been enjoying our trash around here lately...let's just hope he doesn't decide to venture back into our house!
Busy weekend.
Friday night I got into Meridian late.
Some friends that I graduated with have a Christmas party at their river house each year in the Demopolis area so I went to it Saturday night and came back to Meridian early this morning.
My dad's annual store Christmas party was tonight at our house, and surprise surprise...
guess who was the host?
Yep, you guessed it..the one and only!  Who knew I could pull off hosting a Christmas party 2 1/2 hrs. away from my house?
Let's just say it was a tiny bit unexpected.
My mom got a call around 1 this afternoon that my grandmother wasn't doing well and they ended up admitting her into the hospital.  Long story short her "I'll be right back" turned into an all day affair..she never made it back! So here my dad and I were, left alone to host the party.
Let's not lie, my dad was kind of a nervous wreck. Poor thing, he thinks that washing the windows and blowing the leaves in the yard is very good preparation.  Indeed it is, but that doesn't really help w/the cleaning of the actual inside of the house! Typical man (no offense to any of you out there!).
Have you ever hosted a Christmas party?
I just thought that I had!  I would always host a Christmas party/ornament swap with my friends each year..a little Christmas cheer, a few cute platters, and a little food later...voila! Christmas party success...but not so easy this time!
I quickly learned that my mom has entirely too much Christmas china..I will admit that I was a tiny bit overwhelmed. And I can't remember the last time I had to set an actual dining table! A big thanks to our sweet neighbor, Melissa, who catered the party. I couldn't imagine if I had actually had to cook...there's no way that we could have pulled that one off! Long story short, after loads of dishes and lots of cleaning later..the party was a success! Here's to hoping my sweet 87 year old grandmother recovers before the Christmas holidays!

Christmas cards were mailed out on Tuesday, if you sent me your address and haven't received yours let me know and I'll re-send them! I was really afraid that the fancy font I used was going to be hard for the postman to interpret! Here's to hoping you all received them!
I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend!
With love,
