Scarred for Life..

I would post a picture, but I'm pretty sure it would only make things worst. As I'm sitting in my bed talking on the phone tonight, I see something flash before my eyes (and quite frankly, at this point I just thought I had lost my mind). Not even seconds later this big, brown furry rat runs up under my door (in which is shut), and into my closet. I'm pretty sure that I screamed loud enough for everyone in my entire apartment complex to hear me. Then, this terribly ugly creature decides to dash right back out of my closet, up under my bedroom door, and out into the den. I couldn't keep my composure! That little guy was so fast and so ugly, who would be able to? At this point I hear a neighbor outside my window...yes, I'm pretty sure they came to see what was going on. If he only knew what it really was.

So three traps, a rodent detector thing plugged into my wall, and a blanket under each door later...I think that I may, and may being the key word here, make it through the night.

The irony to this story is that I live in a brand new apartment complex in a nice area of town. Last year, I lived in a 1920's loft (okay a really cool dump) in an extremely outdated apartment. Now why this year and not last year? Who knows!! But at least I still had the traps that I bought last year (just in case...always be prepared, right?!) to set up tonight. So, after many you tube videos of "how to set a rat trap" later, I'm going to attempt to go to sleep.

I always knew that I needed a brother growing up! I called my parents and they just laughed. The first words out of their mouths were, "welcome to the real world." Apparently, my dad had handled all of these problems around our house many times and never spoke a word to my sister and I about it....I'm sure he knew that we would absolutely freak out, and probably never sleep again. Any advice on how to scare this gosh awful critter out, never to be seen again? My screaming did it once, just hoping for a better method next time!
