Words cannot even describe how busy I have been lately! I got back from Orlando on Sunday. I substituted on Monday and Tuesday, and I have been in Jackson all day today. I went with my dad today to buy Mountain Hardware and Patagonia in Jackson. We had a great time, but we were in each appointment for about four hours! Needless to say, I was very glad to get home. Waking up at 5:00 a.m. makes for a long day! I got back to Meridian around 8:00 tonight and have been returning phone calls ever since!
I must admit that the best part of substitute teaching are the funnies that come along with it. I just had to pass this one along: All of the children were making turkeys on Tuesday, and each turkey had five feathers. On each feather, the child was supposed to write one thing that they were thankful for. Most all of the children wrote the basics: food, clothing, shelter, family, and friends. Well, I looked down at one little boy's turkey and it spelled out B-A-S-S! I said, "Is that bass?" He replied "Yes, and how do you spell H-O-O-K-S?" I about fell out the on the floor...typical guy, typical guy. Apparently, it starts at an early age!
