Singles Awareness Day 2010

I won't delve into details, but I will tell you that this is the one day of each year that I absolutely dread the most. For lack of better words....

But today hasn't been that bad afterall. I woke up yesterday morning to beautiful red roses from my sweet dad, and to my surprise my good friend Brad sent me flowers and a cute little bear. Even the youth group at the catholic church dropped cookies off at our doorstep.
But the best news yet...

There is an 80% chance of SNOW again tonight, and that absolutely thrills me!!

Snow Day!!

I never in one million years thought that would be the title to this post but it snowed a good 3-5 inches in Meridian!! It started snowing around 11 last night and didn't stop until about 3 this afternoon, and let me tell you that it was nothing short of amazing! We have been playing outside all day!! This was little Sophie's first snow and she absolutely LOVED it!! We built 2 (okay really 3) snowmen, had snowball fights, and made snow angels! All in all it was an absolutely amazing day. I did learn one thing though..building a snowman is a talent in which I apparently didn't acquire!! After three snowmen I decided to give up; the pic below is of the remnants that were left behind of snowman #3! Enjoy!

I can't even remember the last time that I updated, and I still have a Christmas background! I promise to start updating more often! Lots has been going on in my life and I will get around to updating you all one day very soon but until then I will leave you with this:

Big things are happening and big decisions are being made.

Life is unfolding at quite a faster pace than I sometimes would like for it to, but I'm not complaining by any means. I've got quite a few big decisions to make within the next two to three days and all of your prayers would be greatly appreciated.

I stumbled across this website over the summer and I absolutely cannot express just how much I love it! I read it almost everyday and some articles time and time again! If you've never heard of it, I would highly suggest checking it out! They have an amazing career section and I love some of their older archives!

Every Ending Has A New Beginning..

As I look back on 2009, I would have to say that my biggest struggle fell in September. As many of you are aware, I turned down two job offers to take a job in Birmingham in which didn't work out just days before moving. Who would have ever predicted that three months later I would still be jobless and living at home? Words cannot even begin to describe all of the emotions that I had (and let me tell you that there were quite a few, okay many, emotional days) but I lived and learned, and have grown to be a much stronger person because of it. I know that it was for the better that I hadn't moved just yet and I was extremely blessed to be able to forfeit the lease to my apartment, cable, electricity, storage unit, etc. But as I look back on the situation, although I did lose something, I have gained so much more because of it. I have had soo many new blessings come into my life since that point. I got to attend many football games, friend gatherings, fun roadtrips, and out-of-town weddings. I have also had some amazing people coming into my life in which I will be forever grateful.

Right as all of this was taking place, I had a very special friend come into my life. A friend in which I have yet to meet, and will hopefully meet sometime in the near future. Not only have I gotten to know this person extremely well, but I have shared so much with this friend. I get to talk to this person every day of my life, and for that I am so grateful. We talk about everything from what we will do tomorrow, to where we will be years down the road. Graduating from college, I don't see and/or get to talk to my dearest friends everyday, So the fact that I get to share each detail of everyday with this friend has been a huge blessing. I love getting to know this friend and have quite the desire to get to know them even better. I don't believe that my friend reads my blog posts, but if they do I would just like you to know what an enormous blessing you have been in my life and just how much I truly care about you. You will always hold a special place in my heart.

"Count your blessings, count them one by one."

Going into this new year, I have decided that I am going to be thankful for everything that I do have instead of focusing on everything that I do not have. I have so many things to be thankful for in which I take forgranted every day of my life. I have so much more than some people will ever have, and for that I am forever grateful. I know that I tend to be quite an optimist and that some people tend to see me as being a very positive person, but I can promise you that I am only human. And as positive as a person that I can be, I can be that much more negative also. I forsee great things in this new year and you better believe that I will be thanking my lucky stars for them.

In the meantime, I know that He has a greater plan for my life. I am searching for quite a few things in this new year and I know that only He can provide them. And as for the job search, please pray that something opens up soon (because living with mom and dad isn't always as easy as it looks!). But I am thankful that I have a home to go to in the meantime!

Let the Fun Begin in Twenty-Ten!

Well if you couldn't tell, my new year's resolution for this year was not to update my blog everyday. I have failed miserably at keeping it up-to-date lately, so hopefully I will get a little better about it. I have been keeping busy lately. My friends and I rang in the New Year in Dallas, TX and we couldn't have had any more fun! We had an absolute blast! I got to see one of my good friends Sara who I haven't seen since graduation in May, and it was soo good seeing her and catching up!!

Last week was relatively low-key, I spent lots of time catching up with friends who I hadn't seen in a while. Leigh Taylor and I got together one day and had a blast! I spent last weekend in Meridian, and I went to Starkville on Monday for Laura Katherine's birthday. We went to dinner with a few friends that night and my sister and I had lunch on Tuesday before heading home. I just happen to drive by my old house while I was in town, and it made me realize just how much I really miss Starkville and all of my friends!
I can already tell that 2010 is going to be much better than 2009, and I am excited to see what it has in store!

What A Year It Was..

I wrote this post a few weeks ago and am just now getting around to posting it. I just got back from Dallas and have quite a few updates that will be coming soon. But until then..

Wow! As we begin to think of a new year fast approaching us, I cannot help but think of this past year in review. My, what a year it has been. What a rollercoaster ride it was, full of surprises behind every corner. This year was quite an emotional year to say the least; it had its fair share of good, bad, happy, and sad. Here is this past year in recap:

January: From the beginning of 2009 at the Peabody in Memphis, TN, I rang in the New Year with my absolute best friends and an unforgettable night. I attended Men's Apparel Market for the first time in New York with my dad. There were many memories made in which I will never forget; we had an absolutely amazing time and met some amazing people. I hope to continue going back with him. January also began an oh-so-serious job hunt.

February: I must admit that I don't recall too much from this month but I do know that I traveled to Jackson and Huntsville with two of my best friends to hangout with Lady Antebellum for the weekend and my what an unforgettable weekend it was!

March: I spent one week of this month in Ponte Vedra, FL with friends for Spring Break. I also attended a few date parties, and can honestly say that they were some of the most fun I had in college.

April: What a fun month! I had quite the 22nd birthday; I celebrated in style for quite a few days including Super Bulldog Weekend in Starkville. That was definitely a weekend to remember.

May: Oh May, how bittersweet it was. I graduated on May 2, not knowing how long it would be before I saw a few of my friends again. I spent half of May in Meridian, the other half in Starkville, and one week at the beach. Quite a memorable beach trip for sure, but very fun none-the-less.

June: June was filled with lots of traveling back and fourth to job interviews, engagement parties, weddings, etc. Oh and how could I forget, I did get my insurance license this month; I'm quite embarrased to admit that my week in Jackson was spent mainly in tears because not even a GPS could get me around that city!

July: I spent July in Starkville taking one last class and laying out almost every single day! I also went back to Men's Apparel Market with my dad in New York and fun is quite an understatement for what we had! I loved every minute of it and hope to return very soon!

August: Oh August. I spent one week of August at the beach with some of my best friends, and one week in Atlanta working at ladies apparel market, and I traveled back and fourth quite a bit interviewing for jobs. This month was quite a successful month in that I received three job offers within a period of about two weeks. A bit overwhelming I might add.

And September brought many decisions. Many of you know it brought some many un-wanted feelings also, considering the job that I chose didn't work out. We won't dwell in the past.

October was a very fun-filled month. It was full of lots of football and friends, and my dad turned the big 5-0.

November: What a fun month for family! My oldest cousin got married in Orlando, FL in which was lots of fun! I substitute taught at an elementary school. I got to spend all of Thanksgiving week with the Arkansas Vons, and of course how could we forget the sweet, sweet Egg Bowl. Go Dawgs!

December: Well, December flew by very fast. I worked almost everyday and really enjoyed it but I must admit that working in retail will sometimes make you resent Christmas just a little. It was a fun, but extremely long month. Can't wait for the new year!

As I look towards the future, I have to look with much hope and faith. Hope in the fact that maybe a lot of my desires will be fulfilled. I am really really hoping to find a job very soon, and I have to have faith that one will eventually open up.

So with these being said, hopefully 2010 will come a little easier than 2009.
