I've Got Big News!

Fast forward three months (since it has been about that long since I've last posted), and drum roll please....
I signed a contract on a house today!
I'm so excited, I kind of feel like I've been walking around in a fog for the past two days.
I accepted the counter last night, and after jumping up and down, doing my happy dance, and thanking the dear Lord that I had a home...I was too tired to do anything else!
Lets just pray the next 30 days go smoothly!
Until next time,

Roll Tide Roll

Yes, I found houndstooth nail polish, and yes I had to use it.
In my defense, they didn't have maroon!

Office Chair Renovation

I've been busy, and you would never guess why..
I've been getting a little crafty around the office lately! After traveling to Salt Lake City and to Dallas, I've had my work cut out for me in the office but I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The stacks of paperwork are trimming down while the decor in the office is trimming up.  The hideous maroon chair pictured on the left was the chair in the office before I arrived..little did I know it would eventually become mine.  Seven dollars worth of fabric and one large back ache later, I'm proud to call the chair on the right mine. I secretly wanted zebra fabric but considering my dad and I share an office, I might not have a chair if it came back a zebra.  So of course this was as "manly" as I could possibly allow myself to go (I mean, after all it is brown!).  I've got more crafts up my sleeve, but it will have to wait until I have more time! Headed to B'ham to move this weekend.
Until then,

Obagi

For those of you that know me, you know that I'm always on the lookout for great face products.
Well, one of my sister's friends suggested a product called Obagi.  It's a wrinkle cream that works by peeling your face.  So in the end it gets rid of freckles, etc. and gives you a good complexion.  So of course I had to run out and get it.
Let me be the first to say that I'm embarrassed to go out in public with my face looking like it does.  No one warned me.  Not only does it make your face red and dry but it also makes your skin peel.  Yes, peel.  Week one completed and it looks as if I have a terrible sunburn.  My face hurt so bad two nights ago that I was almost in tears because it was so dry.  So I've begun researching (just a little late) the product and it has a six week "ugly" period; it takes a complete six weeks for the product to work but apparently you will have new, glowing skin when it is over.  These people even have support groups for the product-please tell me it's not that bad!  So I'll keep you all up to date on the status of how this is working.  And if you dare, venture out and get your own!
Week one down, five more to go!

Congratulations Mark and Laura!

One of my best friends, Laura, got married last weekend in Vicksburg and it couldn't have been a more perfect weekend! Laura was one of the most beautiful brides I've ever seen and I couldn't be happier for her and Mark, what a perfect couple!

A Little Bit of Everything

Here are a few pictures from our recent vacay:

 The meat market in Progresso:
As we drove away, the lady proceeded to pick up an entire red snapper and dance around the shop with it.
Pure class I tell you.

 Cozumel

 Senor Frogs
I sometimes wish that vacations were never ending.  I would like to say that sleep, drink, eat, repeat just about summed up our week.  Considering my pants wouldn't button the last night we were there due to the fact of over-indulgence throughout the week, I'd consider it a successful vacation.  A big thank you to Aunt Andrea for keeping my sweet little Soph! You are the best, Sophie misses you already!

Home Again, Home Again

For a little while, that is.
I got back into the country on Thursday morning and spent the rest of the afternoon visiting with the Arkansas Vons.  It was so great getting to catch up with them; however, one afternoon was not enough and we greatly missed you Riles and Matt!  I worked Friday morning and headed to Vicksburg Friday afternoon for Laura and Mark's wedding weekend and returned to Meridian early this afternoon.  I spent the majority of my afternoon house hunting.  If you live remotely within the Meridian city limits and are a homeowner, I would love to purchase your home!  If you haven't looked lately, there are very slim pickings!  I am headed to Hattiesburg for work tomorrow and am hoping to be a better blogger when I return!

Updates and Such

Where do I even begin?
The past few weeks of my life have been a complete blur! Let's see, I spent last Friday night in Vicksburg and last Saturday night in Jackson for my sweet friend Laura's bachelorette party! We had so much fun and it was so great getting to see all of my friends for the weekend! I miss them so much and wish we could get together more than we do! I've got pics to post soon, I just haven't uploaded them yet! Work has been extremely busy and I've been working a good bit of overtime but I love my job so I can't complain!
On the homefront, I found a new friend!
Apparently, this little guy has really taken a liking to the Mayer residence.  What he doesn't seem to realize is that this friendship isn't mutual. Maybe he will find a new home soon.
And speaking of home..I'm in the market for one!
I just happened to stumble across a really great find in an absolutely precious neighborhood, and it was a house that I just couldn't resist.  As I'm getting ready to make an offer, Inspector Harry made a few findings of his own.  So the house is a no go.  Back to square one.
Stumbling across a home was extremely unexpected and I was in no way form or fashion looking to buy a home, but it made me that much more aware of how truly ready I am to move out of my parent's.  I love them, and living with them has been great (not to mention the pool in the summer!) but I really miss living on my own.
Here's to hoping the week flies by!
Today starts my third week on anitibiotics and steroids, I've had a sinus infection that will not go away! Let's hope it decides to disappear soon because I'm Cozumel bound on Saturday!! We're headed on a cruise and will return on Thursday just in time for Mark and Laura's wedding weekend in Vicksburg! I absolutely could not be more excited!
Let the countdown begin..

In life, there are late bloomers and then there are just late bloggers.
It seems as if here lately, I just make for an extra late blogger.
However, I do have my reasoning.
The Plague has been circulating at work and apparently my co-workers decided it would be extra sweet of them to pass it right along! Needless to say, the past week and a half of my life has not been very blog worthy.
However, I'm headed to Vicksburg/Jackson this weekend to meet up with fun friends and will update you all again very shortly.
Here's to hoping you had a wonderful Memorial Day!

Another Saturday Night..

I don't even know where to begin!

First and foremost, Happy Belated 21st Birthday to my "little" sister Brooke!

The past few months of my life have been entirely too busy.  I spent a few days at the beach with friends for my sister's birthday, I spent last weekend in Starkville, and I've spent this weekend working in Meridian.  It's now a Saturday night in Meridian, I've gone to dinner and am in for the night-this one might need to go down in the books.
On the job front-things have been extra busy. I go into work early, and leave late.
At night, I've been working on CE credits.  I've only been working on them for two months now, ha! I would seriously consider paying someone to finish them for me-no fun there!
And on the home front,
I'm in the market for a home.
I've treed a house that I really like but it's a bit more than I want to pay, and I don't particularly want to buy.  I found a house for lease that I really wanted and the sign wasn't even in the yard a full 24 hours before it was leased-just my luck! So I'm keeping one eye open in the meantime.
I've got Monday off and couldn't be more excited about it, hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Creating a Website

Do you have to have software such as DreamWeaver to create your own website?
From reading numerous reviews, I have found that DreamWeaver is not future forward in website design.  Many website designers are beginning to use a more technologically advanced software with other codes that DreamWeaver doesn't offer.  Any suggestions?

Catching Up

What a wonderful week it has been!
I have spent the past few days in Birmingham.  My days have consisted of packing, Super Target, Ann Taylor, Sephora, a Barons game, an Arts Festival in Lin Park, and lots of friend time!
I seem to miss this place more and more each day that I'm away!
I'm thinking a Harry Mayer expansion across state lines is in order very soon!
Back to reality in the morning..

Hi Ho, Hi Ho..

Back to civilization I go..
And civilization I am thankful for!!
Greetings from the great state of Alabama!
I arrived in Birmingham early this morning to find minimal damage here.  There are lots of trees and signs down along I-20 right before you get to Tuscaloosa.  The Mercedes plant had lots of trees down but the major damage is not able to be seen from the interstate.  Not to mention that traffic was pretty thick throughout Tuscaloosa.
Thankfully, Ross Bridge got minimal amounts of damage.  There are a few trees down on the golf course but we've got power and we've got cable! I've heard that downtown got a little damage but I'm not venturing out to see it! My thoughts and prayers go out to the city of Tuscaloosa, the pictures and videos are absolutely horrific.  What a scary few nights it has been, here's to hoping we don't have many more nights like that!

Unclaimed Baggage

I would love to go here one day!
It's the Unclaimed Baggage store in Scottsboro, AL; the only store in the United States that purchases Unclaimed Baggage from airline companies around the world and re-sales the merchandise at discounted prices!

Happy Easter!

Updates and Such

Long time, no blog! What a busy few weeks it has been! I spent Wednesday through Friday morning in Birmingham, Saturday in Meridian and today in Vicksburg.
One of the Baron's first opening games of the season was Thursday night in Birmingham and of course I was in attendance.  I got to catch up with friends and needed to pick up a few things (in which of course I forgot..again!).  Guess I will have to make another trip soon then!
On another note, one of my dear friends, Laura, had a wedding shower today in Vicksburg! It was so great getting to see all of my friends!
And guess what?
Did you know that if you download the Pandora App to your phone, you can connect an auxiliary cord to your car and stream it through your radio?

SBW 2011!

What a wonderful weekend in Starkville it was...and what an extremely busy few weeks it has been!
I feel as if all I do is work and by the time I get home each night I just don't care to spend my nights blogging!
Maybe I will catch you all up to date soon b/c there's surely a lot to catch up on!
Headed to Birmingham tomorrow!
Until then,
